The existing Land Use Plans data were updated to reflect the current status of completed Land Use Plans. The Black Rock NCA RMP, Red Rock Canyon NCA GMP, and the Sloan Canyon NCA RMP were added. The attribute table was standardized in accordance with WO IM 2006-214 "Establishment of Geospatial Standards for Land Use Planning Boundaries" and the attributes were populated with all of the data available.

The land use planning boundaries were updated to reflect the consolidation of Land Use Plans in the Ely District in August 2008. All plan boundaries were edited to ensure they are coincident with the current Field Office and District Boundaries which were updated to reflect the transition from the two tier to three tier management levels as adopted by the BLM in the fall of 2008. File Geodatabase Topology was used to ensure consistency between coincident boundary lines. The topology 'construct features' tool was used to ensure the accuracy of internal polygons. It should be noted that the Black Rock RMP polygon overlays the older Sonoma-Gerlach MFP and Paradise-Denio MFP polygons. This will change in the future when the Winnemucca RMP is completed.

GIS_ACRES were calculated using the 'Calculate Geometry' function in the attribute table. Acres calculated based on the polygon area using the US Acres output option.
The Name and Format is BLM GIS Data Standards. The Conversion Constant is the U.S. Survey Foot from ESRI. The acreage value is a two dimensional calculation based upon the computational algorithms of the ESRI Arc Software and is a function of the feature Datum and Projection Coordinate values and MSL elevations. The spatial precision of the acreage calculation is dependent upon the scale of the data.
